Treble Makers is the only co-ed a cappella group at John Jay High School. The group performs at many events involved with the school and the community of Katonah-Lewisboro. We sing all voice-only arrangements to make our performances fun and entertaining.
Treble Makers was founded in 2008 by the amazingly talented Jeremy Zitomer, Jaxie Friedman, and Emilie Schattman. Even though Treble Makers was originally a Vocal Jazz Ensemble, it has become a modern group, performing a wide variety of genres. These songs are composed and taught by the current leaders of the group: Elana Kaplan, Billy Pappas, and Sarah Zuk. This upcoming year we have 9 new members joining us, and we are very excited to work with them!
With our singing, we also work in the community: participating in charity events, helping support our school, and singing at the Katonah and Lewisboro Christmas tree lightings. The group also competes annually at the Gilda's Competition in Scarsdale, coming home with outstanding awards.
The Treble Makers have also recently been accepted to sing in Orlando Florida at Disney! The group auditioned for a highly competitive spot to perform for the Disney OnStage Program. Submission #53,820, The Treble Makers, were accepted and given a great opportunity! They all had an amazing time and made many magical memories!
